The Day Aftermath

Yesterday was a big day. Even though I have a CA driver license and have registered my car here, voting made me really feel like a California citizen. I just wish it hadn’t been sullied by so much public ugliness. And that the CA public hadn’t been successfully confused by the No on Prop 37 ads. As a former genetics enthusiast (biomedical engineering), I can’t say that genetically modifying things is all bad. But I do know that there’s just not enough info about how GMO foods affect the human body. And anything we can do to help the pubic make an informed choice is good by me. /end politics

Today’s Daily Prompt is “Tell us about something you’ve done that you would advise a friend never to do.”
This is an easy one for me. AS AN ADULT PROFESSIONAL, DON’T MOVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITHOUT A JOB. That safety net you have? It’s not as big and awesome as you think it is. It won’t last as long as you hope it will, well, because shit adds up. And you want to have a life. No, you NEED to have a life. Sitting in an apartment all day cruising job posting sites gets lonely and depressing so you need to balance things out to preserve sanity. And you’ll make friends. They’ll do fun things and you’ll want to be a part of it. It’s just one bummer after another. As I’ve said many times before, the one upside of unemployment is going to Disneyland/California Adventure in the middle of the week to ride Space Mountain & California Screamin’. Because daytime TV sure isn’t an upside.

Totally unrelated to all of the above, THIS EXISTS.
